Shameless season 9 promo teases more Gallagher misadventures
What is so interesting about what is coming on season 9 is that on some level, we are going to see many different characters evolve. Yet, at the same time they are not quite evolving in the way that anyone would have expected. Take, for example, seeing Debbie continue to work in a new job where she has a lot to overcome. Or, take a look at Frank getting into the world of politics. At first glance, these are different stories than what we’ve seen before with Shameless. Yet, at the same time they’re still going to have some of the same signature Gallagher flair — and also trouble. Plenty of trouble.
One of the things that is somewhat interesting about this season is that it’s a little bit longer than some others we’ve seen over the years, and it’s airing in two distinct halves with a short hiatus in between. We’ve been worried for a while that it could be the final season, but the good news on that is that there aren’t any indications of that just yet. We do think that there is enough character development on this show for it to last for some time, but it’s really all up to what the cast and crew specifically want to do. The ratings are certainly going to be there for it.
