The Resident season 2 promo showcases a storm, Jenna Dewan
The promo below showcases a rainstorm that has damaged the power grid on the outside. Generators are failing and because of that, there’s a good chance that patients are going to die unless they are either moved somewhere else or power is restored. This is a storyline that we do see in a number of different medical dramas and it is always effective, mostly because it is a way in general to create stakes for all of the doctors and nurses. They are going to have to act, and act quickly, to ensure that they get precisely what patients need. It tests who they are and also relationships that they have with one another.
If there is ever a test of Dr. Bell’s leadership, and whether or not he can be legitimately effective as opposed to a full-blown jerk, this is going to be it.
This new promo also features an appearance from none other than Jenna Dewan, who is playing a medical device representative who seems to be doing what she can in order to get Devon’s attention. Is she trying to complicate his romantic life, or really just trying to manipulate him for the sake of her own business? Both of these have to be considered possibilities as we move into the coming season, but we imagine that it has to be a particularly meaty role in order to get Dewan on board. She’s going to be appearing here before moving over to Mixtape, which is an upcoming series set to stream at Netflix. (It was originally pitched to Fox before it was passed on.)
