Cable Ratings: Better Call Saul, Preacher season 3, Lodge 49
Let’s start with the latest when it comes to Better Call Saul, as the AMC series drew a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and then also close to 1.55 million viewers. Given that the premiere episode was the first installment in well over a year, we expected the premiere ratings to be inflated; with that, we also anticipated a little bit of a drop. That is precisely what happened here. The good news, though, is that the series is currently averaging better live viewership for season 4 than it did for season 3. We’ll see if it keeps that up.
As for some of the other shows on the schedule as of late…
Lodge 49 – We wish there was some better news here, but last night’s episode drew just a 0.1 rating and almost 500,000 viewers, a hefty drop from the premiere. Given that the series has a pretty good lead-in, we have to think that AMC was expecting something better. It actually is really entertaining, but it feels almost like one of those shows that nobody is going to appreciate until a few years after it is gone from the air.
Preacher – How about this for some good news? Following Fear the Walking Dead on Sunday night, this AMC series drew a 0.3 rating and its best total viewership of the whole season with over 930,000 viewers checking it out. We don’t know for sure if this will get the series a season 4, but it certainly doesn’t hurt anything.
