Wynonna Earp season 3 episode 4 posts season-high ratings
Today, the ratings came out for this past episode and, once again, it’s good news. Not only did the Syfy series tie its best 18-49 ratings of the season with a 0.1, but it also posted a live viewership of around 544,000 — its highest total of the season. This marks the fourth straight week in which there was growth for the show in total viewers, and it’s highly unusual (and impressive) to see that sort of week-to-week growth for an established show. Friday’s episode was also the best total viewership for the series since July 2017.
One other thing that’s encouraging and nice to see at the moment is that season 3, at least in terms of live viewers, is down less than 5% versus season 2. For most shows these days, it’s fairly common to see series lost more than 15% of their audience from one year to the next. If Wynonna Earp keeps this average viewership steady, there’s a reasonably good chance that Syfy will feel confident about the show’s future even beyond the already-renewed season 4.
At the moment, our endgame here when it comes to Wynonna Earp is actually rather simple: Not only do we want to see the series get a season 5 renewal down the road, but we want to see the series last for however long the cast and crew want it to. It’s fairly rare these days for a series to get an opportunity to go out on its own terms, and we want that for Wynonna Earp whenever it does conclude … but we hope that it’s not anytime in the near future.
