America’s Got Talent rankings: We Three, Courtney Hadwin, Amanda Mena battle

America's Got Talent

Tuesday night marks the first America’s Got Talent live show of the season, so leading up to that, why not go ahead and check out some of our predictions as to how the field will do?

Below, you can check out our full power rankings entering the episode — if this isn’t enough for you, we also suggest checking out the video below!

One thing that we want to note here is that we’re ranking mostly based on what we think that America is going to do more so than what our own personal preferences are.

12. Human Fountains – From an entertainment standpoint, we’re glad that they are sticking around — though they have almost no chance of moving forward to the next round. Too gross for their own good.

11. Junior New System – They’re fun, and with their style and their high heels, they’re completely different than any other dance act. We just don’t see them having a voting block — it’s hard for dance acts on this show.

10. Lord Nil – It’s also really hard for danger acts. We’d probably have Nil a good four or five spots higher on this list (danger acts are necessary for this show), but we’ve come to learn over time that the average AGT viewer isn’t looking to be terrified. They just want to be entertained and/or moved.

9. Mochi – We dig Mochi probably more than we do PAC Dance Team, but we also aren’t quite sure that America is going to entirely understand the skill that comes with his diabolo routine and the technology he’s implementing. This is probably the toughest act on the show to predict.

8. Flau’jae – This is probably the second-hardest, mostly because hip-hop has never been particularly well-received on this show. Yet, she is coming onto the series with a golden buzzer behind her and a great story. She’s a complete toss-up.

7. Vicki Barbolak – She’s probably going to be one of the people up for the Save — she’s super-funny but also likely polarizing, as we can see many AGT viewers loving her and many others absolutely loathing her style of humor.

6. PAC Dance Team – The main reason we’re ranking them this high is that they already have a pretty large fan base because of their viral videos. We think that, at least for the first round of live shows, that could be helpful.

5. Angel City Chorale – A great choir who does interesting, really unique stuff in their performances. Maybe they’re a little too unique for their own good, since they don’t do much in the way of traditional stuff we see from choirs — but, we’ll see.

4. We Three – One of the most talented acts this season, and while we do worry about their story overtaking the actual quality of their music, the amount of time the show’s spent on their background will probably help them make the semifinals.

3. Shin Lim – While you can question whether or not close-up magic will win the whole season, we’re fairly confident that it’s enough to make Shin a favorite to move forward to the next round.

2. Amanda Mena – Like it or not, but we’re in the era where young singers with big voices often make it really far on the show. Amanda’s super-talented and, beyond that, already has a fan base. It’s hard to imagine her going home this week.

1. Courtney Hadwin – We’ve said this for weeks — she had the most electric Golden Buzzer audition of the season, she has a big fan base, and America in general loves singers. Go ahead and put this one on lock.
