Criminal Minds video: Daniel Henney talks Matthew Gray Gubler, favorite episode
Below, you can see a lengthy Q&A video that Henney (who plays Matt Simmons) did on his YouTube channel, one in which he talks about everything from dogs (follow this link to learn more about how to help dogs in need) to his life to working with Kelly Frye this past season. That is one of his favorite episodes that he’s done since he first signed on to do the series after doing Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders for a couple of seasons.

We really could just title Daniel’s video “ways in which Daniel tries to win over your heart” given that over the course of it, he also talks about his experiences in the modeling world with Matthew Gray Gubler, video games (including Goldeneye, by our money one of the best first-person shooters ever), favorite British actors, and more. This is a wide-ranging, well-edited video that really is a lot of fun to watch — if you don’t know Henney all that well, this is a great opportunity to learn more about him. If you are a big fan of his already, this is an especially wonderful treat.
After watching this, we’re already crossing our fingers already for a big Matt Simmons episode pretty early on in season 14 so he has some exciting material to work on. While we know that the producers do their best in order to hand out some good material over the course of a season, there is still something wonderful about getting those spotlight hours where the stakes are high and you’ve got a really good opportunity to do some risky, exciting, and different things than you’ve ever gotten a chance to do before. Criminal Minds has a great ensemble now, but Simmons is positioned in a perfect spot right in the middle of the action now.
