There is a lot to like about Elementary season 6 episode 17, starting with this: Jon Michael Hill is directing! Regardless of whether or not the actor ends up leaving after this season (we know that there is a big storyline going on right now with Bell and the US Marshals), we are glad that he is going to be making his TV directorial debut over the course of this episode.
Want a little bit more news about what’s coming in terms of the story? Well, rest assured that you can see some of that now in the synopsis below:
“The Worms Crawl In, the Worms Crawl Out” – Holmes and Watson investigate multiple motives for murder when a zoologist is killed because of his numerous love affairs or his trailblazing research. Also, Holmes finds himself the victim of identity theft after his medical records are stolen, on ELEMENTARY, Monday, August 20 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Series star Jon Michael Hill makes his directorial debut for television with this episode.
Who could be stealing Sherlock’s medical records? Well, let’s throw this theory out there: Michael promised earlier this season that he would return when Sherlock was starting to get a little bit better — he wanted a fair challenge and, effectively, a pretty fair game. If he took Sherlock’s medical records and realizes that he is in better shape now, that could be his incentive to come back to New York.
As for the case of the week, all of this sounds on paper like it could be setting up yet another great technology-based case. These have been at the forefront of the series for a while now and we think that a big part of the reasoning for that is rather simple: The writers want characters to think differently. It’s also a nice distraction from the case itself so you can’t figure out all of the pieces.
