MasterChef season 9 episode 13: A double elimination just for the halibut

MasterChef season 9

Next week on MasterChef season 9 episode 13, we’re going to see what is going to be almost a direct continuation of what happened tonight. Ralph was just eliminated but, moving forward, the competition is almost going to get more shocking.

Apparently, what’s coming up first and foremost is going to be a Gordon Ramsay masterclass all about halibut — otherwise known as one of the most delicious fish out there. It’s also rather hard to butcher for those who are not altogether experienced with it, and that is going to be a rather big challenge for all of the home cooks.

While the episode tonight didn’t share exactly what’s going to happen over the course of the entire episode, it’s fair to anticipate that the first part of the challenge is going to lead into a cooking challenge where the halibut is actually going to be cooked in some manner. That is the sort of thing that we’ve come to see on the series more often than not. At the very end of the episode, there are apparently going to be two more people who are eliminated — which means that the field is going to be whittled down in a rather dramatic way. While we’re rather glad that the show is keeping most of the action next week in the kitchen (we vastly prefer that to going out in the field), at the same time we’re not thrilled to be losing two people. When that happens, sometimes it means that someone ends up going home who we don’t expect so early. MasterChef has gotten rid of favorites early before and they certainly will again.

Remember now that there is only a month and a half or so of the season left. Because of that, the series is going to have to move quickly in narrowing down most of the rest of the field.
