Want to know what’s going on over at the NCIS set right now? Well, know this: Two episodes seem to have already been wrapped up, at least when it comes to filming!
Per a post on Twitter (via Christopher J. Waild), yesterday marked the first day of filming on episode #357 for the series, which just so happens to be the third one (at least production-wise) for season 16. There isn’t all that much information about it out there yet, but it is impressive that there are two episodes already filmed in a reasonably short period of time! NCIS works like a machine in order to get all of the work done, and it really has to given that there is only so much time they have to do a whopping 24 episodes a season!
One thing that we do seem to know about this episode is that you’re likely getting a Jimmy Palmer / Ducky scene! Brian Dietzen seemingly confirmed this with a post on Twitter alongside David McCallum. While this wouldn’t exactly be breaking news a couple of years ago, we are in an era now where McCallum is appearing in a smaller percentage of episodes as he looks to spend some more time away from the job. We feel like the writers will still have some great ways to include him in the story whenever they can, and when he’s not there, you’ll get a chance to see a little more of Palmer front and center. He’s learned from the best, and that will likely help him ensure that he can take on any challenge.

Remember that NCIS season 16 is premiering on Tuesday, September 25 with an installment that is hopefully going to resolve the big cliffhanger revolving around Leon Vance.
