It’s been a good while now since Into the Badlands was last on the air, and we certainly have frustrations over that. This is an extremely well-done show with a great cast and great fans; yet, we’re not seeing the show get some of the promotion it deserves. It would’ve been great to see it at San Diego Comic-Con, but now, we’re looking forward towards New York Comic-Con and whether or not the series could end up there.
What we know for now is rather simple: Some of the series’ fans certainly want to see it represented there! As a matter of fact, there is a petition out there at the moment to try and get the series a little bit more attention at the convention later this year. We do think that it’s worthy of it, and we also just think that it deserves some sort of attention leading into the second half of the season. After all, nothing is really clear as to the future of the show beyond that! AMC already missed out on a golden opportunity to either renew Into the Badlands or announce a return date at TCA this past weekend, and we’re really hoping that they find another way to compensate for it down the line.
One of the thing we’re probably the most worried about now is the idea of Into the Badlands being moved off of Sundays and to another night. We don’t foresee it coming on after Fear the Walking Dead since that show is coming back on the air so soon. Meanwhile, the only way we see it coming on Sundays this fall is if AMC is willing to push back Talking Dead later — they were willing to do that in the past for Into the Badlands, but are they now? We just want to see the show get a good timeslot, especially after the crazy cliffhanger that we were left on at the end of the first half of the season.
