Criminal Minds season 14: See Joe Mantegna, cast talk 300th episode

Criminal Minds

The 300th episode of Criminal Minds is airing in October as a part of the season 14 premiere, and you don’t have to wait to hear about the cast celebrations! The entire team recently had a cake-cutting celebration in Los Angeles, and the video below (from international broadcaster Fox Crime) gives you a sense as to how excited the cast is about it.

The video below starts with quite a treat: Getting to see Joe Mantegna speak a little bit of Italian! Beyond that, you also see him talking about his hair turning gray and what the 300th episode means. You also get some trademark Matthew Gray Gubler humor when he proclaims that he thought they would make it to 298-299 episodes and that would be it. He and AJ Cook then both say that they are immensely grateful for the opportunity to be on this show as long as they’ve been. Also, they both sing at the end of the video and present a very compelling case for an episode in which Spencer and JJ spend an entire hour singing to each other in the squad room.

For those of you who are looking for some scoop, you get that via Daniel Henney as he explains that in one upcoming episode, Matt Simmons’ gets into a bit of trouble and we’re going to see his character in a fatherly context.

All in all, this is a really fun video that serves as a great reminder of what we love about Criminal Minds, the great run that the show has been on, and also that there is some really awesome stuff still to come. It’s just also nice to be reminded of how close the cast is and how much they seem to all enjoy working with one another.
