Sharp Objects episode 5 preview: The Calhoun Day distraction

Sharp Objects episode 5

Moving into Sharp Objects episode 5, it feels like the community of Wind Gap is going to be looking for some sort of escape. That’s not much of a shock given that is going on. There is a killer potentially running wild and that’s a terrifying prospect. Yet, the people of Wind Gap are not exactly the sort who are going to spend the remainder of their lives locked up and away from the world. They are going to do their best to keep on living. Hopefully, there won’t be someone who ends up dying along the way.

Below, the Sharp Objects episode 5 synopsis offers up some more news when it comes to what lies ahead:

As you can imagine, we don’t think that Calhoun Day is the sort of festival most would appreciate. This synopsis alone contains a couple of buzzwords that make us uncomfortable and this whole episode could be chock full of that. Sharp Objects is a series that, as a whole, is taking on some very difficult subjects and not shying away from them in the slightest. It’s try to tell a story that it feels is realistic and authentic to the world that is set, and that includes touching on some of the pain caused by the past of this community.

For many, Calhoun Day could be the perfect distraction; however, for others it could serve as some sort of cold reminder.
