Poldark season 5 premiere date hopes for Aidan Turner, cast
Let’s kick things off here with a reminder that there is, in fact, going to be a Poldark season 5 in the future. That was first confirmed by BBC One earlier this year, before the fourth season even premiered. It hasn’t been any secret that the cast and crew wanted to go back and tell at least one more volume of this story.
Where things get a little bit more interesting is discussing some of what could be coming on the other side of this, given that there is a reasonably good chance that Poldark season 5 is the final season of the series. As a matter of fact, it feels as though series writer Debbie Horsfield is actually planning for that to be the case. Everyone seems to be ready to move on following Poldark season 5; as a matter of fact, creativity that just makes sense. Eventually, the main characters of Poldark would need to be aged up dramatically to match where they are in the source material, and there is likely a concern of doing that while Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson are both still so young. Think about all of the time in the makeup chair!
With all of this in mind, we do think it’s possible in theory that there could be a Poldark season 6 … but it’s certainly not going to happen over the next few years…
When could Poldark season 5 premiere?
Nothing is official as of yet, but with the timing of the renewal in mind, we feel like production will kick off later this year in order to ensure that there is a premiere next summer. There’s no reason for the BBC to shake things up at the moment. Why would they, when they’ve got themselves a great schedule for doing things at the moment?
For viewers in America, we imagine that season 5 will likely air on PBS in the fall of 2019. This is, after all, the window in which the series tends to air in the States. We just hope that the show gives us a fitting conclusion and also allows many of these characters to be happy. They deserve that after some of what they’ve gone through!
