For those of you who are interested in fun behind-the-scenes tidbits when it comes to Outlander, we do think that the newest video (via Sony) is right up your alley!
If you look below, you can take a good look at what it’s like making the show behind the scenes via Matthew B. Roberts and Toni Graphia — two of the people who are responsible for making the scripts as awesome as they are! As you can see, most of the magic for the show happens within a relatively confined space, but one that works very well for ensuring that some really great work gets done. It’s a good way to watch dailies, sort out magnetic cards for various story points, and also have rooms large enough to fit a number of different writers and producers in. Writers rooms often need to be flexible since there is so much work that needs to go on there across a very large part of the year.
The writers room runs through a good portion of the season, though there are of course breaks during parts of the off-season. We’ve still got a ways to go until season 5 premieres — even still, though, there may still be work being done whether it be looking at locations, doing research, or starting some of the earliest planning for what lies ahead. We certainly know that there’s still a lot of work being done right now still with season 4, as there are still episodes to be edited, scored, and prepared for television. Season 4 premieres in November, so everyone still has some time to make the magic happen.
At the moment, most of the Outlander-related news is a little bit quiet thanks to the buzz surrounding Sam Heughan’s new movie The Spy Who Dumped Me, which just had its premiere last night. Yet, we imagine that there is going to be some more news with a convention coming next month and still many season 4 teasers to release.
Be sure to check back with CarterMatt tonight for some live updates of Sam’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
