Lindsay Lohan doing a Vanderpump Rules style show for MTV

MTV

Here is some news in the reality TV space that we definitely did not see coming: Lindsay Lohan is getting a new reality show. Not only that, but it also feels like it’s going in the direction of Vanderpump Rules.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Mean Girls star is re-teaming with Bunim/Murray, the production company behind her previous show Living Lohan, for a series that documents her and also the staff of the Lohan Beach House, a resort that she co-owns on the Greek Isle of Mykonos. Basically, this feels like Vanderpump Rules meets Mamma Mia!, which means that it may actually be somewhat relevant given that the latest movie just came out.

Do we think the world really needs a new Lindsay Lohan reality show? Probably not, but there may be a chance that this becomes a big hit. MTV has been really hitting things out of the park when it comes to their unscripted fare as of late, having scored big with Jersey Shore Family Vacation and then also their new series Floribama Shore. They also of course have The Challenge franchise, but they’ve been winning big with that show for quite a while now.

We understand why MTV would also want to get into business with Lohan at this point, given that it has been several years since she was last in the limelight and with her mostly living outside of the United States (she’s been in Dubai a lot as of late), there’s a natural curiosity as to what her life is like. Also, the Greek Isles are gorgeous. The big difference between her and Lisa Vanderpump, though, is that Lisa had a much more established reality TV persona before Vanderpump Rules thanks to her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. We’ll see what happens here.
