Lucifer season 4: Tom Ellis on Lucifer, Chloe, and missing his castmates

Tom Ellis

While there was no formal Lucifer season 4 panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year, Tom Ellis still had a chance to appear on stage! The actor was a part of the TV Guide Fan Favorites panel on Saturday and while there, he took on a number of different questions about the show and the experience being there this year.

For starters, he talked about it being a totally different experience this time around, as he missed some of the cast members and the celebratory routine that they had together. He specifically named Aimee Garcia as the ringleader of many celebrations!

Tom also discussed the sadness caused by the cancellation and the joy of the Netflix revival — things that he has talked about in some other interviews — and then also the state of things for Lucifer and Chloe. There are certainly reasons for them to get together and to stay apart moving into season 4, and according to Tom, it’s really essential for the sake of tension for there to be a reason why things won’t work. They may be able to get through it, but you want there to be conflict in any story.

One of the funnier stories from the panel was Tom talking about an experience that he asked meeting Sigourney Weaver at SDCC last year. Take a look at the quote below (via TVInsider):

“I saw Sigourney Weaver last year at Comic-Con and lost it on the inside … I’d had a couple of drinks and I walked over to her and said, ‘I love you and I love everything you’ve ever done.’ She said, ‘Yeah? That’s because you don’t know me,’ and then she walked off. I think she was being funny. I was a little bit crushed, but I still love you Sigourney.”

Tom was also asked by an audience member about who he would punish, if he had an opportunity to do so — he said the President of the United States.
