Legends of Tomorrow season 4 will not take part in Batwoman crossover
So what’s going on there? We don’t think that it’s an issue so much of Legends of Tomorrow distancing itself from the Arrowverse. Instead, it’s more of an issue of the show being so different tonally now that meshing it together with the other ones is challenging. That’s especially the case when Legends has so many different characters and people that you have to jam into the world. It’s really hard to do that in a way that makes total sense.
In speaking more about the decision that was made, series star Caity Lotz had the following to say on the subject to TVLine:
“The Legends have really set themselves apart from the rest of the Arrowverse. We’re very different [and] we’re not the same kind of show as the other ones, so we don’t [fit in as well].”
We’re sure that the show will still reference the other Arrowverse series in some ways, and we also saw Caity appear near the end of Arrow season 6 — it just won’t be in the crossover, and we think that’s probably a good thing. Because of this, Legends of Tomorrow doesn’t have to distract itself and can continue to do some of what we’ve come to love about it: Deliver ridiculous and amazing stories. This show has become our favorite part of the entire Arrowverse just because it is the one that has embraced the most the spirit of fun and adventure that comes via the comic books.
