Station 19 season 2 spoilers: Code Black’s Boris Kodjoe to recur

Station 19

For everyone out there who loves Code Black and wants to see some of their actors in different roles, we’ve got some news related to Station 19.

Per a report from TVLine, Boris Kodjoe, who played Dr. Will Campbell on the currently-canceled CBS medical drama, is going to recur on the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off as a firefighter who harbors some sort of mysterious past. He is returning to the Seattle Fire Department after some time away, and we imagine that this mystery is one of the things that could unravel over time. Given that there is such a family with the Station 19 crew, we imagine that there are going to be some opportunities here to see him open up.

There’s a lot to be excited about here if you’re a Station 19 fan, just because Kodjoe was outstanding on Code Black and should bring some of that same power and charisma to his work here. Hopefully, he’ll also bring some fans given that Code Black had a rather hefty audience, even in spite of its cancellation. We consider this an opportunity for Station 19 to build up some of its viewership more separate from fans of Grey’s Anatomy and people who discovered it on its own.

Station 19 is airing on Thursdays this fall, where it will follow Grey’s Anatomy once more. The first season ended on a pretty-epic cliffhanger in which a number of different firefighters were in jeopardy. Yet, at the moment we have not heard all that much in the way of news regarding anyone leaving the show. We’re considering that a sign of optimism that everyone will be back, but we don’t want to get too far ahead ourselves here. We’ve certainly learned covering TV over the years that anything is possible.

Hopefully, some more news regarding Station 19 will be coming out in the weeks ahead. Once there’s some more news to report on, we’ll have it for you here.
