America’s Got Talent season 13: Will there be wild cards?

America's Got Talent

Will there be wild cards on America’s Got Talent season 13? We think that after this and many other Judge Cuts shows, that will be asked. There are only seven acts, after all, going through from each Judge Cuts show to the next round! That is certainly something to be bummed out about.

Yet, we do still think that there is a reason to have hope for some of the acts you saw tonight, including opera singer Daniel Emmet. In the past, we’ve seen judges name some wild cards among the people who did not make it through the first time around, and just from a numbers point of view, we think that this is likely going to happen this year, as well. Think of it this way: 28 acts are going through to the live shows based on this. Given that AGT is not going to do four live shows with just seven acts each episode, they have to get at least to 30 or 32. That enables them to have more flexibility for the next round.

While there are no guarantees and there have been no official announcements just yet, continue to have that some of your favorites are going to find a way to properly make it through. We do think that this is a show that has done a great job with second-chance acts over the years. One great example of this is Michael Grasso, a magician from many years back who, despite being a wild card, actually ended up getting close to winning the whole show in the end. Being eliminated at Judge Cuts isn’t a death sentence, either for your career or for your time in this competition. Hold out hope for some of your favorites, whether they were eliminated tonight or down the road.
