Supergirl season 4 spoilers: Who is Agent Liberty?
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Witwer is going to be playing Agent Liberty in a series-regular role, which basically means that he is going to be appearing through most of the season 4 episodes. (Think along the lines of Samantha Arias from last season.) Despite a name like Agent Liberty, though, this guy is actually a villain. He’s the founder of an organization entitled the Children of Liberty, one that basically operates with a goal of trying to advocate for the rights of humans and against those of aliens. This is an organization that could inspire a lot of hate and cause terrible things to happen to aliens throughout the upcoming season.
Basically, we think that this could lead to some hot-button discussions coming up, even though the idea of people discriminating against aliens/superheroes is hardly a new concept. Many other superhero properties have done this in the past and we think that it’ll probably be touched on more in the future. It really just comes down to the strength of the character and whether or not the writers can figure out a way to bring this character on board the series in a way that we haven’t seen on other shows/movies to date.
Hopefully, we’ll learn more about Agent Liberty, at least the TV version of him, at San Diego Comic-Con a little bit later this week. Luckily, you won’t be waiting all that long.
