Chicago PD season 6 spoilers: The Brave alum Anne Heche to recur
According to Deadline, the actress (fresh off her time on The Brave) will be recurring throughout the upcoming season as Dep. Superintendent Katherine Brennan. Per the description, she is “smart, to the point and political, but often self-serving. A cunning and formidable opponent, she always keeps her wits about her.”
Basically, doesn’t this seem like the perfect sort of person to square off against Voight and Intelligence? She won’t be afraid to challenge the unit, largely because she values both her job and her own ability to move forward in her career. We think the best foils for this show are people who are operating with their own self-interest in mind, and think that whatever they are doing is right. We don’t think that Brennan is going to be a bad person by any means, but her allegiance to Intelligence and others within the Chicago Police Department is going to be heavily dependent on whatever she feels is the right idea for her at the time.
Chicago PD is moving into season 6 in general in a rather interesting place, given that the show didn’t have a major cliffhanger, but does still need to give the characters some space to deal with what happened with Olinsky’s death. The Woods investigation got so big and out-of-control that by the end of it, we have a feeling that certain characters felt almost like they were having an out-of-body experience. We feel like the series isn’t exactly going to let up next season, though the drama may manifest itself in different ways.
Chicago PD is going to premiere on NBC come Wednesday, September 26 as a part of a lineup with Chicago Fire and Chicago Med.
