Law & Order: SVU season 20 may not officially premiere on NBC until we get around to the fall, but we come bearing good news today: The record-tying season is being filmed now in New York City!

In a new post on Twitter (see HERE), show star Ice-T confirmed the news with a simple-but-effective piece of imagery. Filming for this season is going to last until we get around until the spring, and like any other season beforehand, we imagine that there are a wide array of different exterior and interior locations that are going to be used. While we have heard the news about a certain former Scandal star joining the show in a recurring capacity, otherwise the production team has kept things largely under wraps when it comes to the stories ahead. That should not be too much of a surprise, given that the show’s case-of-the-week format makes it a little challenging to dish too much on plot ahead of time.

What do we think will be coming up? At the forefront of it will likely be for timely, relevant, and emotional cases that are a reflection of our era. SVU remains as timely a series as ever before; as a matter of fact, season 20 may be one of the most relevant to date. It’s a show that is needed, and it is also one that could be bigger than bolder than ever before.

Given that this is season 20 coming up, we have already stated our case in order to see some big-name guests from past seasons turn up in some sort of guest-starring role. That includes Christopher Meloni, who is the subject of our recent video.
