Marlon season 3 renewal hopes for Marlon Wayans, cast

Marlon season 2 renewal

Following tonight’s finale, what are the Marlon season 3 renewal hopes? Will the comedy have another chance at airing new episodes? Within this article, we want to do our best in order to figure that out!

If we were writing this article last year, we would have said that this is the sort of series that really could be destined to last a rather-long time on the air. It performed very well in the ratings and seemed to have established itself as one of the top comedies of its kind on summer TV.

Yet, all of a sudden now it’s starting to feel a little bit more like some of those announcements were premature, mostly because of one thing: The ratings for season 2. Overall, the series is averaging a 0.6 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic, down more than 40% in terms of the live ratings from season 1. Now, it’s true that Marlon now has a more-difficult timeslot than any that it had in the past, but we know that this is probably not going to matter to a number of different people who work over at NBC.

For now, we do think that it is probably best to just take a wait-and-see approach when it comes to the future of Marlon — if NBC loves the show, there’s a better chance that it comes back regardless of what its ratings are. We’re a family TV news website, and there’s a part of us that wants to see it come back mostly on that basis alone. There really aren’t a lot of family comedies like this out there these days, especially over on NBC; it would be nice if there is a mechanism that allows it to stick around for a little while longer.

One thing that may hurt it, in the end, is doubling up when it comes to airing most of its new episodes. It really doesn’t give anyone out there all that much time in order to check things out over the course of a solid month or so.
