NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 filming: Who is back on set?

NCIS: Los Angeles

NCIS: Los Angeles is only a couple of days into filming season 10 and yet, the cast members are already doing everything that they can to tease some of what’s coming. Remember here that season 9 ended with a pretty dramatic cliffhanger, one that put the future of some characters including Deeks, Kensi, Sam, and Callen into peril. All of their lives are currently on the line entering the start of the new season and, of course, this leads to questions as to who is coming back.

One thing that we should say here is that most of the speculation we’re going to do, both now and moving forward until the premiere, is coming based on social media and then also various press releases that may or may not come out. We don’t think of anything as too big of a spoiler if actors are discussing it online.

Here’s what we can say right now — both Daniela Ruah and LL Cool J have already posted images of themselves back at work as Kensi and Sam. It seems as though you’re going to get a chance to see these characters for at least the premiere episode, and that is an encouraging sign. Often, characters / performers who depart at the start of a season don’t appear in the premiere episode, though there are some exceptions. (Think of Cote de Pablo on NCIS season 11, where she appeared in the first couple of episodes.) It’s possible that Kensi and Sam still end up dead, but we’re reasonably optimistic for now.

Beyond these two, Chris O’Donnell is not a frequent social-media user; instead, most headlines on the internet involving him for the last week are about an amusing exchange in which Arrow star Stephen Amell was confused for him. Meanwhile, Eric Christian Olsen’s own future remains unclear. He’s been very cryptic as of late with his character’s future, especially with an image this week suggesting that he is elsewhere. We wouldn’t take this as too big of a warning sign or anything. One thing that is curious is that Olsen is still referring to himself in his Instagram post as a part of “us,” with the “us” being the cast of the show. If he had departed the show already, would he really do that?
