Criminal Minds season 14 filming officially begins! What’s ahead?

Criminal MindsFor everyone else who is exciting regarding Criminal Minds season 14 filming, we come bearing great news — today is the very first day!

In a new post on Twitter (see below) from the show’s official production office, it is clear that filming is underway on the latest batch of episodes. The writers room has been underway for some time trying to craft some of the best episodes possible, and over the past few days we’ve seen the time also out scouting some locations — including, in some cases, braving the heat and the difficult conditions in order to make it happen.

Filming for season 14 is going to continue over the coming months, but one of the things that is especially interesting about what’s happening is just how much ambiguity there is. After all, look at things this way — there’s no real guarantee from anyone at the moment that there will be more than 15 episodes. The plan for the production right now has to be to plan as though there are only going to be 15 and then hope at some point along the way that the order is extended. We don’t want to have just this many episode this season and beyond just that, we’re also really hoping that this doesn’t turn out to be the final Criminal Minds season as a whole. That is probably something that we’ll get a little more of a sense about over time.

New episodes of Criminal Minds will start airing on CBS in early October, and more than likely come late August / early September, some of the first major scoop will start coming out in terms of what to expect. Based on everything that this show has given us to date, it feels clear that there is a lot to look forward to.
