Supernatural season 14 filming underway; the present and future
In a new post on Twitter, this glorious news was confirmed by none other than executive producer Jim Michaels! Production on the upcoming 20-episode season (slightly shorter than the ones in the past) is going to run starting now until the spring, and you’re hopefully going to get a lot of interesting, crazy stuff along the way. Supernatural is the longest-running series of its kind in the history of all primetime American TV, and at this point, it’s already clear that the show has a lot to celebrate. The fact that it still wants to go out and tell interesting, compelling stories is a testament to everyone out there who wants to actively support it.
We presume that there will be plenty more news on season 14 to share when the series heads back to San Diego Comic-Con next year, where they are going to have the super-difficult task of trying to top what happened last year when Kansas came out to perform. Still, we think that there will be some fun teasers shared and hopefully plenty of humor with Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and the rest of the cast.
Of course, at this point in a series’ run the start of a new season does lend to questions about whether or not it could be the final one. For now, we certainly don’t hope that it is with Supernatural. Whenever the show does go out, we’d like it to be with a final season that is planned from the start. While we think that it could go on so much further than season 15, we wouldn’t be mad if it ended next year — it’s hard to be upset when you think about how many episodes we’ve got! For now, we’re at least confident that this season isn’t the last and it feels like the best philosophy following that is to just take everything one season at a time and see what happens from there.
