Hawaii Five-0 season 9: Should Masi Oka ever return?
It has been a little while now since we saw the character as a major part of the show — he left back at the midst of season 7, and since his exit the series has given more of a larger role to Noelani. It’s been a pretty smooth transition, as we’ve seen a few different fun scenes for her even though there’s only a limited amount of time that we get for her outside of the lab.
So is there a reason to bring Max back, given that she is now around and doing a good job in his post? Not necessarily, but we do think that there’s a bit of fun that could come out of seeing Oka again. One of the main reasons he left was because the constant travel was getting too be demanding, but coming back for one more appearance would be a fun little nod to his history. You could also write in a good reason for him to return, such as a case that he did an autopsy on way back when — or, maybe he knows someone back in Hawaii who is involved in a crime.
Maybe this appearance doesn’t happen in season 9, but we do remain one of those people who would really love an opportunity to see many of the show’s former cast members at some point before the series is over — Hawaii Five-0 is a show about a big Ohana who just so happens to solve crimes together, and we like to think that all of these people are still a part of this world even if we don’t see them.
