Blue Bloods season 9 spotlight: The future for Henry Reagan

Blue Bloods season 9

What is going to be coming up for Henry Reagan on Blue Bloods season 9? In this particular spotlight article, we’re going to dive into that further!

Henry remains to us one of the most fascinating characters within the world of the series, largely because he is the one with the most wisdom to unlock. He’s old-school, he’s been around the NYPD for ages, and he witnessed a transformation of a police force like no others. The times have changed significantly in the years since Henry first started on the force, and we’d love to see the show continue to find a way to use that wisdom.

In particular, we do want to see a little more of that wisdom play out on the show. That’s why one of the things that we want to see the most for this character moving forward is an opportunity to see some of his past work surface in the present. Let some of his experience influence more cases in the future, and give us more of a chance to see more of his own law-enforcement skills in action. Some of our favorite Blue Bloods episodes are among the ones in which Henry is actually involved in some way.

Of course, beyond that we do want some more opportunities to learn about Henry’s past, whether it be his marriage with Betty or how some of what he learned as a father to Frank influences him to this way. Blue Bloods doesn’t do flashbacks, so we’d love to see a way in which to see these stories be important in the present.

Finally, we almost have an interest in seeing something akin to a day in the life. What does an average day look like for Henry, and how does he traditionally operate? How much is law enforcement still important in his life even when his family is not around?

What we just know is this: Henry is a character who has been around since the start of Blue Bloods and by the time the series comes to a close (whenever that is), we want to see a little more.
