The Affair season 4 episode 4 sneak peek: Does Cole love Luisa?
The last time that the focus was on Cole during episode 2, we saw that there were some complications for the couple. Luisa was struggling with her status as an undocumented immigrant and, beyond that, also wondered what was still there between Cole and Alison. Also, it’s clear that Cole is struggling when it comes to the future of his business.
The focus of the sneak peek below, first and foremost, is Cole paying a visit to his mother for one simple reason: Doing everything that he can to better understand both himself and also some of the feelings that he has. Luisa doesn’t think that he loves her, so how can he express that? Is it okay to be unhappy in a relationship here and there? These are questions that Cole wants to ask his mother, mostly because she is one of the best examples that he has of someone who had a healthy, long-lasting relationship. While his father may not be around anymore, there was some element of happiness that was there for his parents for quite some time.
The advice that Cole’s mother gives him is pretty simple: Love is really about seeing someone through both their high and low points. Will Cole actually apply this towards Luisa, or see this more in terms of someone else? This is something that we’re wondering, especially with him being a man at the center of some very key life decisions. We should get a better chance to understand his future over the weeks ahead.
