If a Psych: The Movie 2 — titled Psych: The Sequel among many fans — ever happens, there’s a chance that there will be plenty of Lassiter in it. Timothy Omundson was unable to participate through much of filming the first go-around due to his recovery from a stroke, but all signs at the moment suggest that he’s going to have a big presence moving forward.
According to a report from TVLine, the script for the next movie has actually already been written. The only reason why we don’t have any confirmed plans regarding when it will air right now is due to the busy schedules of stars James Roday and Dule Hill. They’re both working at the moment on other series so there needs to be a time coming up when the two are available for a long enough period of time in order to do that. Following that, the same has to be said for the remainder of the cast.
Will everything happen? In the end, we’re reasonably confident about the future of the franchise. Psych: The Movie is the sort of franchise that can happen whenever everyone is available and because of that, there’s really not all that much of a hurry in order to make it happen. The cast and crew seem to love getting back together, so from a vantage point of wanting to do the enthusiasm is clearly there. At the moment, we’re crossing our fingers and hoping to see the movie come together at some point in 2019. There are too many moving parts at play to think too hard beyond that.
Also, have we noted that Psych is one of our favorite TV shows of all time? That’s probably why we’re extra-enthusiastic to make it happen. We discuss that and much more in the video below; for more news, be sure to watch the video below! (You can also subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more.)
