Outlander season 4: Final day, night of filming is here
In a new post on the subject on Twitter, show executive producer Maril Davis confirmed that today marks the final day and night of production on the series. Davis credited the “incredible” crew alongside the cast for helping everyone continue to make the series as fantastic as it’s been.
What the entire team has been able to do over the years is pretty remarkable, and season 4 is absolutely no exception. After all, this year the crew had the immense challenge of trying to determine how to remake Scotland in a way that made it appear like North Carolina. That meant, for starters, finding very specific locations. Then, it involved building locales that were both period-accurate and fit some of the geographic of America during the 18th century. As if all of that wasn’t a challenge enough, there was also the fact that the cast and crew had to then figure out how to still film some other scenes still set in Scotland for some other characters. While this season did not feature the cast and crew traveling to South Africa like we saw in season 3, there was absolutely a lot of work that still needed to be done.
Let’s toast now to the entire Outlander team for finding a way to make production go so smoothly despite everything that they were up against, which included this year heavy snowfall, dramatically-changing temperatures, night shoots, and a rather severe infestation of midges here at the very end. They took on everything and no matter what they were up against, there was always a sentiment of “the show must go on.”
Outlander season 4 is set to air on Starz this November, and rest assured that later today we’ll have more from the official wrap of filming, including a video on the subject. You can subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube in advance to know when that video hits.
