July 4 Outlander notes! What’s ahead, celebrations, and more

Outlander season 4

Happy Fourth of July, Outlander fans! Given that we are moving into a season set in America, albeit before the concept of Independence Day came to exist, it still feels like a worthy thing to celebrate.

Today, there are a few assorted odds and ends to celebrate when it comes to the Starz series, starting with just the fact that filming is coming to a close this week and with that, everyone is getting set for some sort of break. It would actually be rather wonderful if the network was to release some sort of preview or trailer today, but it is understandable why they may not want to. This is a day, after all, where there are a number of people who are not going to be at their computers. The idea is a fun one, but it may just not be worthy of all of the effort when you could easily just launch the promo elsewhere. No matter when Starz does that, there’s a chance that they’ll get a rather substantial audience.

If you missed it, you can check out a new tweet over at this link via Sam Heughan, as he shares some of his own thoughts on the holiday. We hope everyone out there has a great day!

As for what else we want to discuss here within this piece, there are a couple of different things worth noting. For starters, it looks as though The Land Con will be continuing! The second edition of the convention took place in Paris this past weekend, and was an opportunity from many fans to meet the cast members and also check out some panels and other fun experiences. Based on this Twitter post from the company behind the convention, it does appear as though there is a third edition of the convention coming next year. It is obviously far ahead of when any sort of official announcements can be made, mostly because they will have to arrange the dates of the convention around what is going on with filming. If they decide to have The Land Con 3 during the summer, it will be right in the middle of season 5 filming as opposed to being near the end.

Meanwhile, another thing worth noting right now is that we are just thirty days away from the start of Heughan’s new movie The Spy Who Dumped Me. For those of you who are interested in seeing more of Sam within this role, we’re going to have a chance to see that over the course of the weeks to come. We expect at least some sort of promotional push for it, even if he also has another movie that he is going to be working on in due time.
