Blue Bloods – July 4 marathon coming; prepare yourself!

Blue Bloods season 9

If you love Blue Bloods and you don’t have too many plans for this Independence Day, here’s an invitation to spend it watching Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and the rest of the cast!

As the message HERE from ION reveals, tomorrow starting at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time you can have a chance to watch a number of Blue Bloods repeats throughout the day. It’s fairly standard for syndicated crime shows to air a string of repeats on major holidays like this, but there are few more appropriate shows for July 4 than Blue Bloods. For starters, the phrase “Red, White, and Blue Bloods” really rolls off the tongue quite well. Also, the Reagans really seem like the sort of people who go big with their July 4 celebrations. (Hopefully, Jamie is not having to spend too much of it running around arresting kids with fireworks.)

One of the real shames that comes with Blue Bloods airing in the fall and being largely set around the same time in which episodes are airing is that we never really get much of a chance to see the Reagans in the summer. That’s a real shame, mostly because of the fact that they could probably get into some really good stories around this time of the year and touch on what life is like in New York City in the summer.

When it comes to the production of Blue Bloods season 9, know that on the other side of the July 4 holiday, filming will begin before too long. While there isn’t a whole lot of information that is known about the upcoming season at the moment, the easy assumption to make is that we’re going to see the aftermath of Jamie and Eddie’s engagement and, to go along with that, Frank doing everything within his power in order to try to figure out how he wants to handle the situation as Commissioner.
