Better Call Saul season 4 trailer: How Jimmy spends his suspension

Better Call Saul season 4With Better Call Saul season 4 arriving on AMC come Monday, August 6, AMC has released a short trailer as to what to expect. Just as you would imagine, the story for the upcoming season is going to be themed, at least in part, around how Jimmy McGill spends some of his time suspended from the Bar. In turn, it’s also fairly easy to see precisely how the man ends up becoming Saul Goodman in the process.

Jimmy notes within the trailer that there are ten months to go until he is a lawyer again, and in that time, Jimmy is still going to need to work and get himself some sort of gainful employment. That means he’ll probably stoop fairly low in order to find it — Jimmy’s the sort of guy who has zero qualms resorting to desperate measures when the time comes, and we absolutely do think that there are going to be some occasions coming up in which that happens. We’d honestly be surprised if it didn’t.

As of right now, we can chart Jimmy’s transformation to Saul as a product of a few simple things.

1. Chuck’s death – Without him around, there is one fewer person to have specific expectations for him. We do certainly think that Kim wants the best for him, but it’s hard to really imagine that she is going to be able to curtail him all that much.

2. The suspension – Jimmy may have to take some shady jobs in order to make ends meet and as it turns out, he may realize that he likes many of these shady jobs.

3. The person that he’s been for a long time – The thing that is so important to remember about Jimmy overall is that this is not a situation where there is a surprising / new part of him coming out as a result of these circumstances. This has always been there inside of him and it’s really just this particular situation that is causing it to spawn out further and come to light. The Slippin’ Jimmy part of him may even embrace it.
