The Affair season 4 episode 4 preview: The sky swirls around Alison

The Affair season 4 episode 4 is going to be bringing Cole and Alison back into the middle of the story, and that’s important mostly because of where we know things are ended up with Alison in the present. It’s still not entirely clear what happened with her, though we know that leading up to her disappearance she was getting closer to Ben — while at the same time continuing to keep Cole very much in her life. It’s hard for that to not happen when you think about both their history and also the business partnership that the two share.

Based on The Affair season 4 episode 4 synopsis below, it does feel as though Cole’s relationship with Alison is going to pose some problems in some other parts of his personal life:

Alison and Ben dig into her past and begin confronting her fears. Cole’s relationship with Alison is jeopardizing his marriage to Luisa.

In general, right now Cole does have a lot on his plate since he’s facing a possible opportunity to make considerable cash selling over his restaurant and potentially franchising it. Yet, in making this move there is a good chance that he will lose a considerable part of his passion and creativity in the process. The Affair has long been a world populated by characters unsure as to precisely what it is that they want, and we really cannot be altogether shocked that this is what we are seeing on this particular occasion, either.

As of right now, it’s very clear that The Affair is taking its sweet time, which we really don’t mind given that the story to date has been exceptionally strong.
