Nashville season 6 episode 13 video: Avery’s next move; Daphne’s dilemma

Nashville season 6 episode 13 looks to be one that pushes forward a number of storylines, whether they be ones we’ve seen fairly often over the course of the season or ones that have been put on the back burner here or there as of late.

Let’s kick things off here with a discussion of Daphne, who is moving along her journey on Brad’s singing show. While she’s went along with some of the suggestions handed down to her so far, she’s not getting closer to what we would consider to be a tipping point. She’s not going to be altogether interested in the idea of putting down her guitar for some performances, even though this is something that the producers are pushing her to do. This will lead to some tension and, potentially, some fighting.

This is something that we actually have seen be a source of tension on many a singing show in the past. A great example of this can be seen over with American Idol over the years, when you see some of their contestants, who typically live with a guitar attached to them, go without one for a performance and the show makes a big deal out of it.

As for some of the other important elements of this upcoming episode, one of the clearest ones is that we’re almost sure to see Avery forced into a big decision with Juliette and Alannah. Who does he really want to be with? He always seems to come back to Juliette no matter what happens, so at least for now, we expect the same exact thing to happen here.

When it comes to Deacon, meanwhile, the fighting with his father is far from over. He may have been willing to bring the man more into his orbit, but he’s not going to be fine with what he strongly considers to be him rewriting history. Why doesn’t Gideon see things the way that his son does … or is he intentionally trying to avoid seeing things that way? Both interesting questions.
