Chicago Fire season 7 spotlight: What’s next for Sylvie Brett?

Chicago Fire season 7 is going to be premiering on NBC come this fall, and for this edition of our show spotlight series, we’re planting the focus on none other than Sylvie Brett. She’s certainly been through a lot as of late and season 6 was no exception — she went through all of the drama with Hope and on the other side of that, she also had a hot-and-cold relationship with Antonio and, eventually, a tough situation to deal with Cruz. He cared about her romantically; however, she didn’t quite feel the same. There was no clear confrontation on the matter but you could read between the lines.

So what do we want to see moving forward now for Brett in season 7? We’ve got a few suggestions below in this new edition of our weekly spotlight series.

1. A new dynamic with a new partner – It’s already confirmed that Monica Raymund is leaving the show. With that in mind, Brett’s going to likely have a new partner. Will it be a newbie or a familiar face? Ultimately, it doesn’t matter since it is a new relationship. We want to see what it’s like for her to build a partnership up from scratch and some of the bumps and the road that will be there from the start.

2. Romantic stability – Are we rooting for Brettonio? Sure, but we’ve also said before that we wouldn’t have minded seeing something with Brett and cruz again, either. More than anything else, we’d just like to see something stable happen here so that Sylvie can start to turn the page a little bit and move to a different phase of her life. We’ve already seen her in short-term relationships.

3. More of her upbringing and family – As someone who was adopted and also someone from a small town, there is so much that could be explored here from her past — beyond Hope. It would be pretty great to dive into more of this and see precisely how she became the person she is — and also if some of her relationships with these people in the present is different from what it was in the past.
