HBO’s Watchmen: Sleepy Hollow alum Tom Mison scores lead role

Ballers season 3

Tom Mison is coming back to television, and he’s effectively moving from one big broadcast show to another.

According to a report from Deadline, the former Sleepy Hollow alum has been cast to play a lead role in the upcoming HBO version of Watchmenone inspired by the classic comic but not a direct adaptation of. There are no details available as to his character just yet. Nonetheless, we know that Mison is a capable actor who can work within a wide array of genres — we’re also thrilled for him to be able to work for a showrunner in Damon Lindelof who will hopefully offer him a little more consistency than he had behind the scenes at his old job. Sleepy Hollow had some behind-the-scenes shakeups during its run, and that including a massive overhaul that came following the departure of Nicole Beharie midway during the show’s run.

As for some other notable castings, Titanic / Resurrection actress Frances Fisher is coming on board alongside White Famous actor Jacob Ming-Trent. Across the board, this cast includes such fantastic actors as Regina King, Louis Gossett Jr., Tim Blake Nelson, Andrew Howard, Adelaide Clemens, and the recently-announced Jeremy Irons.

Unfortunately, we don’t think that HBO is going to be altogether keen to start handing down details on this project soon, largely because of the fact that it is still in the pilot stage. After this happens and in the event it is well-received, maybe they will start being a little bit more liberal when it comes to the amount of information that they choose to hand down. For now, there is clearly no hurry since they don’t even know at the moment just how the pilot is going to land. We have faith based on some of the people involved and the fact that it is HBO involved and they have a tendency to not release anything until they have the utmost confidence in the final result.
