Into the Badlands season 3: When should AMC announce what’s next?
Unfortunately, you are not getting a new episode tonight, or in the immediate future. Instead, we’re left to simmer on the cliffhanger that was Sunny making the uneasy alliance with Pilgrim for the sake of Henry. It was a bold move for him to make, but it’s one that could have pretty extreme consequences for just about everyone else. That’s something that we just have to prepare ourselves for in the second half of the season. Pilgrim is more dangerous than ever, but if there is one bit of consolation that we have, it is simply this: The Widow seems to be getting her gift back. There are more pieces on the chessboard and therefore, more potential for all sorts of carnage.
As a result of that CarterMatt wishes there was some sort of indication as to when Into the Badlands is going to be returning to the air. With Fear the Walking Dead, AMC announced the return date a matter of days following the finale. Unfortunately, they didn’t do the same for Into the Badlands. We’re still going to hope that the show gets paired with the zombie drama again later this summer, especially since the episodes are filmed and there doesn’t seem to be any reason in which to hold them back. Also, we just want the ratings to stay solid as a means of ensuring that a renewal happens for a fourth season. It feels like there is still so much more of this story to tell and we want opportunities to see it play out.
Our hope is that at some point next month, AMC will announce some sort of future plans for the series — if they don’t, we’re going to ahead and assume that the series isn’t coming back for a while.
