Legends of Tomorrow season 4: Courtney Ford promoted to series regular

Legends of Tomorrow

The cast of Legends of Tomorrow season 4 Just got a little bit larger.

According to a new report coming in via Deadline, Courtney Ford, who plays Nora Darhk on the CW Series, has been officially promoted to series regular. She is the third major promotion for the show this summer, joining the likes of Matt Ryan and Jes Macallan. Keiynan Lonsdale, however, is officially leaving the show.

So what does the promotion for Ford mean? It raises a number of interesting questions about Nora’s future and her battle between good and evil. For most of the season, we saw her in the midst of a mighty struggle as she started to become overtaken more and more by Mallus’ darkness. (Pun, of course, intended.) By the end of the season, though, we saw Damien Darhk make a few moves in order to save her. In between her father starting to see the light and then also her spending as much time as she did with Ray Palmer, you do have to wonder as to whether or not she has a little more goodness in her than she did previously.

Obviously, we are more than happy to have her stick around just to see if anything develops between Nora and Ray. For really the first time in the show’s entire run, we finally have a character that feels like a Ray Palmer love interest and not just someone who is meant to be with someone else. Remember when he was with the Felicity Smoak over on Arrow, or even the Kendra Saunders storyline that most people pretend to forget about? We feel for the guy a lot of the time.

Aside from the story of the show, this promotion probably does make a great deal of sense for Courtney Ford herself. After all, she is Brandon Routh’s wife in real life, and it probably helps them to be able to work and raise a family in the same place. Plus, who wouldn’t want to be a part of the show? It’s completely crazy, funny, and different than any other series that you’re going to have a chance to work on.

Legends of Tomorrow season 4 is going to premiere on The CW this fall. If you want to see the full premiere date list for the network, you can do so over here.
