The Originals season 5 episode 9 video: A dose of family discomfort

The Originals

The Originals season 5 episode 9 is set to come your way on The CW in a matter of hours and with that, how about a brief preview for what’s to come?

For starters, it seems as though Wednesday night’s episode is going to feature a rather-uncomfortable Mikaelson family reunion. In the aftermath of precisely what happened with Elijah’s release last week, he’s going to have a great bit to atone for. That includes helping in a series of events leading up to Hayley’s death. The moment that Elijah enters the room in the sneak peek, Hope quickly decides that she doesn’t want to be there anymore. To make matters worse, it feels almost as though seeing some of the magic come out of Hope makes Klaus all the more infuriated at Freya for her decision to let some of the dark magic envelop here. There are, clearly, going to be some problems that keep these characters at one another’s throats for some time and we really don’t see that slowing down in the near future. Klaus and Freya both think that they know what’s best for Hope and we imagine that Hope, in turn, isn’t going to be altogether inclined to listen to either one of them. It may just be easier for her to go her own route.

No matter what happens within this episode, we just hope that it is satisfying given that The Originals is going to be on a hiatus for the next couple of weeks. The final four episodes are going to start airing on July 11, and they will presumably air consecutively until we get around to the series finale on August 1. At that point, there’s less than a few months before the spin-off Legacies officially premieres on The CW.
