GLOW season 2: Netflix releases new behind-the-scenes video ahead of premiere

Netflix’s GLOW returns in a little over a week with its highly anticipated Season 2, and to make the wait a little bit easier, the streaming company has released a new featurette with the actresses who star in the show talking about anything from their hair and make-up to how their characters have grown.

Right out of the gate fans learn that season 2 is all about the women shooting their wrestling television show and Alison Brie (Ruth Wilder) explains that because of this, the ladies will spend much of this season either in character or dressed as their wrestling character. This isn’t a complete shock as the trailer alluded to the fact that women of GLOW have become famous. They have fans who dress up like them and cheer them on in the ring. We also learned previously that the women are going to have to work harder than before when their show is threatened to be cancelled. With all that being said, it’s no wonder we will see their big hairdos and colorful make up much more than we did in season 1.

Speaking of their fabulous hairdos and looks, the women also discuss the hair and make-up process they go through to get their characters’ signature looks. We have to admit watching them get their hair and make up done was fascinating because when you watch the show you are made to believe that these ladies did all this by themselves. In reality though, they sat through hours and hours of preparation.

In addition to all the behind the scenes stuff, the women of the series also explain that their characters’ hairstyles and make-up match how their characters have grown. They aren’t these scared women anymore, they understand what they need to do in order to make a great show and they respect one another. It’s obvious that not everyone likes each other (Ruth and Debbie), but they are learning to respect everyone because they all want the same thing; for the show to continue on. This show is their livelihood and if the show were to end, they would all be out of work. So heading into the new season, that’s going to be one aspect we are really looking forward to.

Overall, the new featurette gets us excited and it certainly filled the hole, at least until next week.
