Can Shadowhunters fans take hope from Lucifer season 4 revival?
In a direct sense, it may not have much of a correlation; however, in terms of hope it speaks volumes. The Lucifer revival is the biggest case we can remember since maybe Sense8 of a series getting a second life thanks to social media. While we know that Brooklyn Nine-Nine trended on social media after its cancellation/revival, there was a logistical reason for NBC to bring it back since they were the studio behind the show. In this particular case, we’re talking here almost entirely about a show getting saved on a service that doesn’t have much of a studio consideration or any other benefit because of fan support.
So what can be done now for Shadowhunters? First and foremost be inspired, since what happened with Lucifer can almost certainly happen here. It’s an uphill climb, but getting more of Lucifer was also an uphill climb. Think of this as more motivation to keep fighting, trending on social media, and discussing the show. Be organized, and try to come up with specific hashtags to trend and times to trend. Show some of the potential homes out there that you are willing to subscribe to their products.
Above all else, be positive and hopeful and stick together — a little bit of unity can go a long way. While there are still twelve more episodes coming for Shadowhunters, those by no means have to be the end. Fingers crossed that they aren’t.
On a side note, one of the loveliest things we’ve seen the past few weeks is the unity that Shadowhunters and Lucifer fans have had for one another. It’s shown that even if we all have our preferences when it comes to shows, we’re all on the same page when it comes to keeping them around for future seasons.
