Is The Jerry Springer Show ending? CW schedule raises questions

Jerry Springer ShowHere’s something that we never thought was ever going to be even a remote possibility: The Jerry Springer Showa longtime staple of daytime television, could be coming to a close.

According to a report from Broadcasting & Cable, pre-produced and encore episodes of the “conflict resolution” show are going to start airing this fall, but there are no new original episodes currently ordered. That could change down the line, but for now, it appears as though the series may actually be shutting its doors. Where will people go now to appear on TV and punch each other in the face? Odds are, there are a few more places that are out there.

The Jerry Springer Show has long been a center of controversy when it comes to the content that they choose to air, especially when it comes to their casting of people who seem to be there more so to fight than just about anything else. Yet, despite all of that it has been a consistent performer and has been on the air for well over 20 years. We can’t even remember a time in which the show wasn’t on the air. Springer, a former politician, has (judging from the name, obviously) been a part of the series from the very beginning. Within the run of the series he also hosted a couple of seasons of the NBC talent competition America’s Got Talent. He’s amassed a ton of money doing this show, and in the process acquired many fans who probably chant “Jerry! Jerry!” at him no matter wherever he goes.

In the end, there is only so long that people can come on stage, fight each other, and then kinda work it out at the end of the segment. At some point, everyone does have to move on whether it be now or at some other point down the road.
