Big Brother 20 tease: All about the neon lights

Big Brother 20

Do we have a new tease of what Big Brother 20 is going to look like? Based on the new Twitter tease from host Julie Chen, anything seems possible.

In this post (see below), the show host makes it clear that there is a heavy neon theme to what is going on this season. We could have a house that is nostalgic and intent on celebrating the 1980’s, or we could just be seeing something more akin to a rave. Maybe it’s being around nightlife, or maybe there is some sort of secret subtext beyond all of this that we won’t understand until a month or so into the season. There have been many times in the past where we have driven ourselves crazy with random theories that don’t turn out to be altogether accurate. However, that does not make them any less fun! (Isn’t speculating a part of why we love the show?)

Big Brother 20 is set to formally premiere on CBS come June 27th, but you don’t have to wait that long to get some more information regarding the cast. CBS has already announced that on Monday, there will be a formal cast reveal. You can learn more about that by watching the video below — subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube while you’re at it.

In general, we don’t think house designs really matter that much, but it is something fun to look at over the course of the season and when you watch as much live feeds as we do, you do at least want the design to look okay. The houseguests are probably going to trash the entire place as the season goes along, so the design is a nice distraction from all the half-eaten food and ants that are typically strewn about.

The one last thing that we will stay on this design that is somewhat interesting is that it brings to mind heavily some of the typeface and design for Big Brother After Dark over the course of the past few years. Given how big of a player Orwell was both during Big Brother 19 and Celebrity Big Brother, maybe the show is going to start taking some cues even more from the late-night show on Pop … or maybe not. Still, long live Orwell.
