Orange is the New Black season 6 opening credits hint at changes
Netflix has just released the new opening credits for Orange is the New Black season 6, and it’s subtly letting us know that it’s going to be very different than anything that you have seen before. As it turns out, there are also many reasons for that.
Think back to the end of this past season of the show. The riots have come and gone, but with that so has Litchfield as a prison. Now, characters are moving, there is a new environment, and of course that means some more extreme circumstances. Looking at this from the standpoint of logic, if you who is been a part of a riot that caused an entire Penitentiary to be shut down, don’t you think you’re going to get moved to a place with much stricter conditions? There are little moments within this credit sequence that make us think that a supermax prison may be where many of the characters are going. There is a sense of characters being scattered, however, so we don’t want to assume that the conditions are going to be the same for one character as they are for others. Seeing flashes of what the new prison cells look like and the showers involving long chained hand cuffs is enough to make us worry.
What could be rather interesting in watching Orange is the New Black season 6 is just seeing a different perspective on prison life and a reminder that no two prisons are necessarily the same. Also, they are supposed to be difficult, miserable, and incredibly jarring. Even for some of the characters who have been locked up for a while, this should be a very different sort of experience than what they have been through to date.
Luckily, the wait for more Orange is the New Black is almost at an end. Netflix is going to release this latest batch of new episodes on Friday, July 27. We do think expectations are pretty high coming off of a season that was somewhat polarizing, but also very ambitious. Format wise, just may feel relatively similar to the first four seasons of the show. With that being said, we wouldn’t be shocked if there are big changes almost everywhere else.
