For today’s big Outlander season 4 update, it is pretty clear that we are nearing the end of an era: Filming is another step closer to being done.
As confirmed in a post on Twitter by none other than Sophie Skelton, today marks the read-through for the final episode of the season. This means that the entire story is being set in stone and now, we’re at a point where the only thing left to do is film some more scenes featuring the rest of the cast. This is an exciting sign because with filming complete, we’re another step closer to the show actually coming back on the air.
There have been signs for a while that production on Outlander season 4 is nearing the end. For starters, we’ve known that June is likely going to be the end of production. There are conventions coming up at the end of the month for some cast members, and beyond that both Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have some projects in the works that are going to start filming before too long. While there may be little changes here and there, production schedules are often devised a rather-lengthy amount of time in advance.
What’s been going on as of late when it comes to filming? Quite a bit. Many cast members have been out shooting some exterior scenes, and that’s been a little bit difficult due to a rise in bugs — caused by a sudden spike in warm weather. You can read a little bit more about by heading over to the link here and checking out our piece from last night. Scotland may be a stunning place visually, but it has its issues just like anywhere else.
Outlander season 4 is slated to premiere on Starz this November. Odds are, at some point later on in the summer we will get some additional news whether it be new photos or some video content. Hopefully, there will be a teaser at some point sooner rather than later.
