Luke Cage season 2 trailer: The battle for power in Harlem

Luke Cage season 2 trailer

Luke Cage season 2 is premiering on Netflix come Friday, June 22, and there are going to be many different plot points that should excite. There’s an opportunity of new leadership in Harlem — yet, at the same time, there’s a pretty good chance for a significant amount of pain.

Take, for exact, Bushmaster’s arrival. This is someone who possesses much of the same power that Luke does and he’s going to be incredibly tough to stop. One of the big challenges that came along with the first season is that Luke is a character who is so formidable and unstoppable to take down — how do you find someone to counteract him? That seems to be where this character comes into play.

What’s probably more surprising than anything about the trailer below is how it actually puts the focus more on the character of Mariah Dillard than it does Luke, as it features her talking about her leadership and her plans for Harlem … while also giving us a fairly good sense of what could be done to keep her in power.

Entering Luke Cage season 2, we do think that this is a show poised to take a leap more so than any other one within the Netflix – Marvel universe. The first season wasn’t perfect, but the performances were top-notch and the visuals were every bit as strong as anything else we’ve seen from the comic-book company. We just don’t think that there’s been enough conversation about these shows really ever since The Defenders and this could be a great opportunity to change that.

June 22 is only a little more than a week away, so fingers crossed season 2 lives us to everything that we’re getting a chance to see here.
