What should Outlander season 4 show off at New York Comic-Con?

Outlander

Earlier today, we had a chance to share some very exciting news. Outlander season 4 is coming to New York Comic-Con on Saturday, October 6th. Are we disappointed that the show is not going to be in San Diego? Absolutely, but it is nice to see some other parts of the country getting a little bit more love when it comes to big convention appearances.

With Outlander being in New York this fall, the timing really could not be better. This appearance will be around a month, give or take, before the show officially launches. That makes it an excellent promotional platform, but it does also lead to some interesting questions. One of the biggest ones at the moment is rather simple in just what Starz is going to be willing to show of the upcoming episodes.

By the time in which New York Comic-Con happens, we firmly believe that there will be a premiere date already out there. To go along with that, we also consider it fairly likely that there will already be an official trailer. We would project that these sort of announcements would comment either late August or early September in order to do the show true justice when it comes to promotion. There are still a few other things, however, that Starz should choose to show.

For starters, is there a fun behind-the-scenes look at season 4 they could share? We do think there’s some value and showing the audience what filming Outlander is like in its new environment of using Scotland as a double for North Carolina. They could show them the sets and have a hands-on look at some of the costumes and other exciting things that make the show as great as it is. They could also just show a second trailer to go along with the first one that is assumably already out there at this time.

Now, we get to the question that is probably on the minds of some. Is it actually possible that Starz could choose to show the full season 4 premiere episode, similar to what they did at San Diego Comic-Con with the season 3 premiere? Anything is certainly possible, and what Starz did last year is further proof of that. However, we don’t assume that the network is going to be feeling any pressure to do that again. What they did for season 3 is something that very few shows do in terms of a program more than one season into its run. There shouldn’t be any expectation of another big reveal like this.  If you’re attending, don’t do so with that in mind. Consider it a pleasant surprise. It’s very well possible that Starz may just decide to not release anything new in so far as video content goes and just allow the voices of Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin speak for themselves.
