GLOW season 2 trailer: Netflix gives hint at the chaos that is to come

This is the day we have been waiting for. Netflix today released the season 2 trailer of the highly anticipated series, GLOW, and from the looks of it, season 1 only touched on the fun and intense chaos that it about to go down as the ladies deal with their newfound fame.

The trailer opens up with Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron) announcing that things are going to be a little different this time around. The show has some new crew members and some dedicated fans. As a result of the previous season the girls are excited to kick off a new one. They are confident and ready to get to work until old wounds are opened up between Debbie and Ruth when Ruth (Alison Brie) learns Debbie (Betty Gilpin) is getting divorced. If fans will recall, Ruth cheated with Debbie’s husband and ever since discovery Ruth’s secret, she and Debbie have been at odds. The trailers hints that the tension will very much continue this season, and we couldn’t be more excited for that.

The torn friendship between the pair delivered some of the best scenes last season and truly drove the show forward. In season 1, their rivalry ultimately gave the rest of the girls ideas for how to make the show interesting. Their fake storylines and rivalries gave way to a success, so during season 2 we truly hope the writes have found a way to keep that tension alive without repeating what was done during season 1.

From here the trailers briefly shows how each of the characters are reacting to their fame and how others are reacting to them. However, things take a turn for the worst when the girls learn they will probably be cancelled, to which Ruth confesses she might be the reason why. The trailer makes it appear like Ruth rejected a man’s advances and therefore to get back at her, their show may be cancelled. With this briefly hinted at, we are intrigued to see how this will affect Ruth. Obviously someone made unwanted advances toward her so she ran away, but now that the show maybe cancelled she will have to deal with that guilt of letting everyone down. This pegs the question if they writes will be explore the theme of sexual harassment and assault. If so, this would be the time to do it given the #MeToo movement that has been the recipient of many headlines. Of course, we will have to tune in to find out for sure.

Meanwhile, the ladies aren’t just going to sit by and let themselves be cancelled, so they decide they are going to do whatever they want to do and hope it brings in the viewers. The trailer continues to show that these ladies aren’t quitters and even though times may be hard they are willing to do whatever it takes.

Overall, the new season of GLOW looks amazing and we can’t wait to dive in and binge like crazy. Season 2 premieres on June 29 on Netflix.
